6 mins read

Fast-forward to 2018 and there will be a youth club in every neighbourhood, stronger youth leadership, and young people deciding a major chunk of youth spending. These are just some of the commitments in the Government's youth strategy.

The document, Aiming high for young people: a ten-year strategy for positive activities, was finally released and announced in Parliament last Thursday. It promises 184m of new money, as well as 495m of continuing funding and reinvestment of unclaimed assets from dormant bank accounts.

The strategy is the third and final strand of the Government's Policy Review of Children and Young People, a joint review between the Treasury and the Department for Children, Schools and Families that will influence this autumn's Comprehensive Spending Review.
