Whatever the result of the general election, when Parliament reconvenes a few voices that supported the rights of young people will be absent.
Hilton Dawson, the outspoken former Labour MP for Lancaster and Wyre, is not defending his seat, and David Hinchliffe, his colleague in Wakefield, is also leaving politics.
The next Parliament will also contain new faces. All MPs are currently parliamentary candidates following the announcement of the election, but there are also a host of hopefuls who have not yet experienced life at Westminster. And some of this new intake could well replace the likes of Dawson and Hinchliffe as advocates for young people, if their campaigns are successful.
