Pupils in Years 5 and 6 at Ladybarn Primary School in Manchester have been given alarm clocks as part of an initiative by the city council to encourage children to take responsibility for their actions. The council hopes the alarm clocks will improve the punctuality of pupils. Pupils have also been consulted on school developments, and have been involved in a new project to encourage them to cycle to school. The initiative has also been designed to make the primary school pupils more prepared for high school.
