The Childlink Adoption Society is putting the finishing touches to the drop-in centre, which will open early next year. Families will be able to visit monthly for support and advice and meet with a play therapist.
Sarah McGarry, adoption support manager at Childlink, said the charity hopes the centre will be used by social workers to meet families and also for fun workshops, such as art sessions.
Caroline Hesslegrave, chief executive of Childlink, added: "We're making it a room where families can come for reassurance and are keen to put adopters in touch with each other to provide buddying help."
