Young people have been enjoying golf and other evening activities such as go-karting to prevent youth crime this summer. The Summer Evening Grants scheme, managed by Brent Council's Neighbourhood Renewal Team for Harlesden and Stonebridge, organised activities between 3pm and 10pm, as opposed to the usual 9am to 5pm sessions. The scheme aims to keep 12- to 19-year-olds busy during the peak time for youth crime. More than 200 teenagers took part.
