At first, this wasn't a problem. We may have shared some popcorn or opened a packet of biscuits every so often. Yet somehow things have supersized now. Last week, one member of the group brought along an absolutely huge tin of Quality Street. It wasn't long ago you only saw these once a year. These days, though, they're on your local supermarket's shelves all year round at half the price they used to be.
After two hours the tin was empty. I found the whole thing a bit alarming, as you can imagine. Yet not quite as much as a timely report just published into our expanding waistlines and what we can - and can't - do about it.
