That's why, through our Aiming High strategy, we are working hard to tackle inequalities and improve social mobility. We have invested more than £900m in providing interesting things for young people to do and world-class places for them to go.
The Positive Activities for Young People programme targets at-risk eightto 19-year-olds, providing development activities outside school hours. And our flagship Myplace programme has received £272m to deliver world-class youth facilities, driven by the active participation of young people.
The first Myplace-funded project opened its doors at the end of October. A further 62 projects will open over the next three years, with additional money available in December for projects in disadvantaged areas. In addition, 45 new or refurbished centres have opened with support from the Youth Capital Fund Plus.
