Social work gets a bad press -- We're here to redress the balance

1 min read Social Care Editorial
Welcome to the first issue of Social Work Now. If you've picked this up and are wondering what it is all about, then read on.

This is a magazine aimed at children and families' social workers and all of you whose role involves safeguarding children and young people. You do one of the toughest but most important jobs around. This magazine is designed to help you in your work.

Each month, we'll bring you a range of information to help inspire, influence and support your practice including real-life examples, interviews, comment and opinion. Social work too often gets a bad press. It's no fun when your profession is being rubbished all the time. We will redress the balance and showcase some of the excellent and innovative work that's being done to help vulnerable children and families, such as Staffordshire's independent social work practice.
