Feed young people's passion for politics

Young people should feel confident in having a say in the world around them.

They should feel respected and that their voice is listened to - indeed, this is central to making them feel confident enough to play a proper role in communities and in society as a whole. However, the reality is very different.

The Make Space Youth Review found that less than a quarter of 11- to 16-year-olds felt they had a say in the world around them - including in the services and activities aimed at them. Instead many young people reported a growing sense of their irrelevance. Even on issues they cared about, many just didn't feel there was a role for them.
