Ash Scotland and Scottish Tobacco Control Alliance in Edinburgh will be making the plea at a conference on 25 March in Edinburgh.
The conference aims to raise the profile of smoking cessation projects among youth workers and showcase examples of successful initiatives.
Ash Scotland chief executive Sheila Duffy said: "To move forward on prevention and to reduce health inequalities in our poorest areas we need to engage with those who work with young people and work together to reduce smoking."
Alastair MacKinnon, chief executive of health promotion charity Fast Forward, who is speaking at the event, said: "Every year 15,000 young people in Scotland start smoking and young smokers from the most deprived backgrounds are more likely to carry on smoking into adulthood and be most affected by the harm caused by smoking."
