Youth organisations announced as winners of Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award for Volunteering

Twenty organisations working to support young people have been announced as the recipients of an award launched to mark the Queen’s platinum jubilee.

Launched before the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award for Volunteering was announced as a one-off addition to the annual Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS), which was set up in 2012 to mark the golden jubilee.

It is designed to “celebrate the outstanding achievements of national charities working to empower young people aged 16-25”.

Organisations including the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), homelessness charity Centrepoint, Scouts and  the National Deaf Children’s Society are among the winners.
