The Pushing for Change report found that disabled young people are interested in becoming leaders and championing disability rights, but are currently deprived of the opportunity to do so.
The Alliance for Inclusive Education is calling on disabled people's organisations, which are run by disabled people for disabled people, to do more to encourage young people to become leaders.
The report recommends that such organisations audit their internal procedures to make sure they do not exclude disabled young people.
It also suggests that disabled people's organisations actively promote themselves to young people and develop educational programmes to teach young people about disabled people's history and human rights.
