SHiFT’s programme has expanded to Tameside, in Greater Manchester, marking the charity’s first ever partnership with a local authority out of London since it launched in 2021.

The Tameside scheme will provide integrated support to disadvantaged children who are caught up in cycles of crime by addressing the underlying vulnerabilities that contribute to offending behaviours.

Councillor Bill Fairfoull, deputy leader for children and families at Tameside Council, said: “We have heard powerful stories of how SHiFT has transformed lives and I’m filled with hope at what can be achieved in Tameside and what this collaboration is going to do to secure safe and bright futures for the most vulnerable young people in our borough.”
