
Papers filed on the Companies House website reveal that The Challenge has so far received claims from creditors totalling £4.2m, with claims and calls continuing to be received on a daily basis.
The estimated total amount owed by The Challenge comes to £7.9m. This includes £1.29m to staff and £6.26m to more than 1,000 organisations including youth groups, activity centres, and suppliers.
The Challenge had been the largest single provider of the NCS across England since the initiative launched. In the 14 months up to December 2018, The Challenge received contract income of £73.6m from the NCS Trust, representing 95 per cent of its total income.
