NCS Trust drops claim against liquidated provider

1 min read Youth Work
The organisation that runs the government's National Citizen Service initiative has dropped a claim against a major regional provider that went bust.

The NCS Trust had previously claimed it was owed £780,000 by Engage4Life Ltd (E4L) which was one of 10 main providers awarded regional contracts worth close to £1bn to deliver the NCS between 2015 and 2018 - but went into liquidation in December 2015. E4L also claimed it was owed £196,000 by the NCS Trust.

But a liquidator's progress report reveals that the dispute was settled after each party agreed to drop their claims.

"Since my last report, the claim brought by NCST was settled by way of a Tomlin Order made on 21 March 2017 on the basis that with no admission of liability by either party, neither party would proceed with its claims and each party would bear its own costs," the report states.
