careers advice in schools

"Nice try, but let's face it, the last thing this government wants is hordes of well informed, well educated 'consumers' capable of critical thinking active in this sort of labour 'market'. So who will tell the children? It's now obvious - it'll be Doris the lollipop lady (at least until her job gets cut in April), Cindy the receptionist and, in one academy (allegedly), a tortoise called Eric who likes nothing better than a cuppa tea and a chat."
