Peter Hamilton, senior project worker for Westminster Accommodation and Leaving Care team, explains how the authority has been running a leaving care skills group for the last decade. Helping care leavers with skills ranging from putting together flatpack furniture to reading gas metres and managing tight budgets, Hamilton explains the importance of helping care leavers with their transition.
Also featured on the video are four care leavers including Huda who has taken part in the life skills sessions.
She says: "They teach us how we can use a little amount of money to cook for ten people and compare that to a take away."
