The organisation helps dyslexic, visually impaired and blind children in the UK.
Davis will take up the role on 7 July and is a former chairman of the charity.
He said: "By taking this appointment I can still be part of the industry and, I hope, raise the profile of Vision Charity in all sectors of the visual communications business that has been part of my life for over 35 years."
