Video promotes positive view of care leavers

Social Care
An online video about successful people and characters who have been in care has been launched by A National Voice.

The 10-minute video is part of the looked-after children’s charity’s Supersonic campaign, which aims to show looked-after children and care leavers in a positive light.

Famous people featured in the video include Marilyn Monroe, Malcolm X and John Lennon.

Fictional characters such as Spiderman and Harry Potter are also featured.

“We wanted to show young people in care that although it’s not the easiest experience, it certainly does not prevent you making a real success of your life,” said Maxine Wrigley, chief executive officer at A National Voice.
