This follows disturbances last month in the Harehills area in the city after social workers visited the home of a Roma family to reportedly remove their children.

The council has pledged to review the case and work with Romanian and Roma led organisations to improve support for the city’s wider Roma community.

But one month on and social workers’ safety is still at risk, says the union.
