Undercover YMCA boss praises workforce response to cuts

The "can do" attitude of youth workers in the face of swingeing budget cuts has been praised by a senior director of YMCA England.

Bims Alalade, the charity’s director of HR, has said she was inspired by the positive approach of YMCA’s frontline workers after spending two weeks pretending to be a youth worker as part of Channel 4’s Undercover Boss series.

Alalade, who has worked for YMCA England since 2009, said she wanted to go undercover to see how YMCAs are dealing with the cuts and was impressed with what she saw.
