Motions passed by 300 members of the UKYP who attended the annual sitting in Leeds between 22 and 24 July included opposing cuts to youth services.
"UKYP believes that the cuts to youth provisions are damaging, unfair and done with haste," they said in one motion. "Youth cuts have caused many support groups that are a life line to so many young people to close. Young people do not deserve to face the repercussions of mistakes that we did not directly make."
Young people also called for stronger action to combat high levels of youth unemployment, which included putting in place a strategy for every local area that has youth unemployment of 20 per cent or more. They also called for all unemployed young people to have their own personal adviser, and that tax breaks should be available to young entrepreneurs to help them start their own business.
