The finding was part of a wider survey on environmental attitudes conducted by water experts, MWH.
Results showed 17 per cent of members did not trust the green credentials many companies claimed to have.
Kate Parish of the UK Youth Parliament said: “The fact that 17 per cent never believe companies’ green claims, shows how urgently UKYP members view the challenges of climate change.”
One parliamentarian commented: “We are seeing horrible changes already” while another argued: “The longer we leave it the less time we have”.
When asked who had the power to influence young people regarding climate change, David Beckham was the most popular response. ‘How To Look Good Naked’ TV presenter Gok Wan was also popular.
