Almost a third of 16- to 24-year-olds have had unprotected sex whilst drunk, according to a report released today.

The Sex Factor report, published by charity YouthNet, surveyed the views of more than 2,000 young people through the organisation's website, www.TheSite.org.

Almost all the young people surveyed were sexually active and more than a third of them had had sex before they were 16.

More than half of young people said they were worried about contracting sexually transmitted infections.

The report also found that a fifth of young people have gone back to a stranger's house for sex after a night out and one in ten have invited a stranger to come home with them.

A third said they were unhappy about they how they lost their virginity.
