Text service to help with childcare

Early Years
A text service to help parents find childcare has been launched in the north of England.

Kirklees Children and Families Information Service, which is part of Kirklees Council, has launched the initiative to run alongside its other services.

It can direct people to information about positive parenting and coping with the challenges of being a parent, as well as details of other organisations that may be able to offer support.

The service can also help with ideas for family activities. They can give information about days out, clubs, organisations and positive activities.

Parents can text the any of the words childcare, parenting, activities, organisations or money and their name to 07800 002431, and an information officer will call back within six working days to talk about how they can help.
