London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) chief executive June O’Sullivan wants to see staff who have had two vaccination jabs exempt from rules around isolation, in place for when people come into contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19.

Those ‘pinged’ by the app currently must self-isolate for a number of days, even if they have been fully vaccinated and are testing negative.

She says that the rules are forcing nurseries to close temporarily while staff self-isolate.

Instead, she wants early years staff who come into contact with a confirmed case to take a daily PCR test for seven days.
