TDA chief Holley to step down

1 min read Education
The chief executive of the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) Graham Holley is to retire from his post at the end of March.

The announcement was made by Christopher Baker, chair of the TDA, who said that Holley had always planned to step down after overseeing the relocation of the agency from London to Manchester.

Last November, Education Secretary Michael Gove confirmed plans to transfer the functions of the TDA to an executive agency of the Department for Education as part of the government's review of arm's length bodies. This process is expected to be completed by 2012.

"Graham has always been clear with me that he would see the agency safely relocated from London to Manchester before stepping down," Baker said.

"He has certainly delivered on that commitment and the efficiency and effectiveness of the TDA today is a tribute to the process that he as chief executive has led. We will wish him well in what I hope will be a long and happy retirement."
