The company took over with a mandate to improve children’s services, which was rated ‘inadequate’ in 2015 and then again in 2018.

By 2021, inspectors had upgraded it to ‘outstanding’ and following their most recent visit, in January this year, children’s services has been awarded Ofsted’s top rating once again.

TfC and the council have “not only sustained the outstanding practice and leadership seen at the last inspection, but they have also been relentless in driving further progress and improvements”, said inspectors.

“This is bringing about profound and positive changes for children, families and carers. The workforce is motivated and inspired by leaders and managers to continually improve their practice and children’s outcomes.”
