Southport murders: Timeline of killer's interaction with agencies

Details of Southport mass murderer Axel Rudakubana’s history emerged last week as he was jailed for life.

On the day that his trial was due to start on 20 January 2025, he confessed to the knife attacks when he was aged just 17.

The full facts of the case were laid bare by the prosecution at the sentencing hearing on 23 January, which included harrowing accounts of the impact of the massacre on the families affected.

Rudakubana was jailed for a minimum of 52 years after pleading guilty to three counts of murder of Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven.

He also admitted 10 counts of attempted murder and possession of a kitchen knife as well as charges of producing ricin and possessing an al Qaeda training manual found in searches of his home in Banks, Lancashire.
