Stephen Dent stands accused of misconduct after being found guilty of assaulting a 12-year-old service user by using excessive force to remove him from his home.
Dent was found guilty in January last year of assault by beating.
He received a conditional discharge for 24 months and was ordered to pay compensation of £250.
Meanwhile, another social worker is due to appear in court next week to face drug charges after allegedly attempting to sell cocaine to police at a party last year.
Niamh Duignan, 28, of Fallowfield, Manchester is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on 19 January.
The incident is alleged to have happened at a party arranged for police and social workers involved in child protection.
