Scotland launches youth engagement guidance

The Scottish government has launched guidance on how agencies such as schools, youth groups and the police can help young people to fulfil their potential.

The Valuing Young People guidance aims to help schools, community groups and other agencies work together and involve young people in decision making. The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland, Young Scot and NHS Scotland have already agrees to adopt the principals.

Jim Sweeney, chief executive of Youthlink Scotland, said: "The framework ultimately provides a matrix of opportunities and supportive interventions that will help engage young people and give them social and learning environments where they can achieve their full potential benefiting themselves and society in the process."
