Schooling to stay on as Ofsted director of social care

1 min read Ofsted Social Care
Ofsted's director of social care is to stay on at the organisation once Sir Michael Wilshaw leaves in December, having previously said that her retirement will coincide with his departure.

Minutes of an Ofsted board meeting reveals that Schooling has "agreed to stay on as national director, social care, beyond Sir Michael's tenure".

The document adds that the precise details will be discussed with Wilshaw's successor, Amanda Spielman, early next year.

Schooling, who was previously director of children's services at Islington Council, was originally appointed as director of social care at Ofsted on an interim basis in July 2015.

Her appointment followed two high-profile departures at Ofsted in the space of a couple of months.

In April 2015, Debbie Jones announced her resignation as director of social care little more than 18 months after joining Ofsted in September 2013.
