Darra Singh, chair of the independent Riots Communities and Victims Panel, set up last month, is now calling for more young people to take part in its study.
The panel has been hearing from youth workers, youth groups and community leaders from affected regions across the country. Panel members have also spoken to some young offenders who have been convicted of offences relating to the riots.
Singh said: "Many young people have told us they are fed up of being blamed for the riots and we know that most young people were not involved.
"I would urge youth workers and people working in children’s services to spread the word and let young people know this is their chance to be heard. Anyone can email, tweet or write to us.
