In the Queen’s Speech today (11 May), the monarch told the House of Lords that measures will be brought forward "to ensure that children have the best start in life, prioritising the early years". Ministers will also "address lost learning", she said.

In a tweet following the speech, 10 Downing Street added: “Our Early Years Strategy will ensure the youngest members of society are given support to fulfil their potential.”
