
The National Children’s Bureau-based service provides research and case studies to the public and play sector but was under threat of closure after losing government funding.
The information provided is used by a variety of organisations, from local community groups and parish councils to large play associations.
In a joint statement the NCB, together with the Association of Play Industries (API) and Play England, have announced they will fund it for the rest of 2011 at least.
API association manager Deborah Holt said: "It has been a really useful tool for the sector to help it improve. We have secured it until the end of this year and are hopeful we can secure its long term future as well."
