Ofsted praises Surrey for raising practice standards

1 min read Social Care
Ofsted inspectors have praised Surrey County Council for "raising standards of practice" after it was judged as "inadequate" for safeguarding last year.

Inspectors conducted an unannounced inspection of the council's safeguarding practices last month, which did not highlight any areas for "priority action".

Staff at the council were praised for their commitment to safeguarding children and young people and involving children and carers in care planning.

Inspectors noted that since the "inadequate" Joint Area Review last July, morale of staff had risen and management had improved.

The report states: "The remedial changes implemented by the council have impacted quickly and positively in raising standards of practice within children's frontline services."
