NYAS will provide the Department for Education-funded Safety Net Advocacy Service for care-experienced children from 1 October.

Funding for the helpline was originally awarded to NYAS in 2011 for two years, and then shared with Coram Voice until 2017, when the helpline was delivered through its Always Heard service.

The latest DfE funding has been secured by NYAS for two years, with the possibility of extension beyond this, according to NYAS.

Rita Waters, NYAS group chief executive, said: “I am delighted that we have secured the funding for the Safety Net service from the Department for Education.

“It is fantastic to once again be able to broaden our support to helping children and young people in care through the Safety Net service and I am excited to see the difference it will make to the lives of the young people we support.”
