Nursery staff given free social networking guidance

The National Day Nurseries Association has produced policy guides for nurseries on staff use of social networking sites and mobile phones.

It has also created a sample policy on suncare, to add to around 30 other guides on areas such as medication, outings and health and safety.

Members can now download the guides for free from the NDNA website. They used to cost £40.

The offer is part of a revamp of the NDNA membership package.

Purnima Tanuku, chief executive of National Day Nurseries Association, said: "The samples have all been written in line with the relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks, helping settings to meet their obligations in this area."
