She was appointed in 2019 as director of children’s services for Northamptonshire County Council amid a period of significant upheaval for the local authority.

The beleaguered council was axed following financial difficulties and earlier this year replaced with two new unitary authorities, North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire.

Hadley joined shortly after children’s services at Northamptonshire were rated as “inadequate” by Ofsted and were taken over by the independent Northamptonshire Children’s Trust.

Following the break-up of the council she had retained her DCS role across the two new authorities. It is not yet known whether the councils will look to appoint separate DCSs or retain a joint post.
