New identity for single parent charity

Early Years
Single parents charity One Parent Families-Gingerbread, has rebranded as Gingerbread.

Gingerbread merged with the National Council for One Parent Families in 2007 but has dropped the One Parent Families tag after research showed the name Gingerbread was well known.

The rebrand, which was overseen by agency Forster Creative, includes a new logo and strapline: "single parents, equal families". The charity intends to focus on challenging the disadvantage and stigma associated with single parent families.

Fiona Weir, chief executive of Gingerbread said: "Single parents tell us they are sick of being treated as second rate families - they want respect for the difficult job of bringing up a child alone that most of them do well. They want action so their children do not grow up in poverty and quality advice and information to support them to improve their lives."
