Beth Parker, director of service development, will walk 184 miles over 10 consecutive days, relying on food and accommodation from NCVYS members and local businesses along the way.
The fundraiser aims to raise money for the charity’s network of members who work with young people as part of its Beyond the Comfort Zone project.
"I’m walking the length of the Thames Path to prove that anything is possible when people push themselves beyond their comfort zones," said Parker. "Our members do outstanding work with young people throughout England, but now, more than ever, they need public generosity to keep that work going."
Parker will be joined en route by NCVYS staff members and representatives of its 180 member organisations. She has also called for local councillors or parliamentarians to join her as she traverses their constituencies and boroughs.
