Rosie Ferguson will replace Nick Wilkie as chief executive of London Youth when he stands down from his post this Easter, it has been announced.

Ferguson, currently operations director at the charity, has been part of the senior management team at London Youth since 2009, leading much of the organisation's recent growth and development.

The organisation, which represents more than 400 youth organisations across the capital, said Wilkie is leaving to be a full-time father.

London Youth’s chair of trustees, Davide Rodrigues, said: "We were overwhelmed with more than 60 applications for the post.

"The breadth and profile of the field of applicants pays testament to the reputation that we feel London Youth has established in recent years.

"Following three robust rounds of interviews, we were very pleased to see Rosie emerging as the successful candidate. Rosie’s energy, insight and skill have been central to London Youth’s recent evolution.
