A study for the London Assembly, using figures from 2007, found teenage pregnancy rates in 18 London boroughs are higher than the national average, In some London boroughs, such as Southwark and Lambeth, one in 13 15- to 17-year-olds are falling pregnant.
Although London's overall teenage pregnancy rate has reduced, more than one in four boroughs has failed to reduce their rate.
Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham and Haringey have the highest teenage pregnancy rate while Richmond, Kingston and Harrow have the lowest.
The LondonAssembly's Health and Public Services Committee report also found the capital's rates of sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea and herpes have increased and remain above national levels.
