Living wage for youth support workers

1 min read Youth Work
Youth support charity Includem is now accredited as a living wage employer, it has announced.

The Glasgow based charity, which works with young people who are experiencing challenges dealing with day-to-day living, joins more than 5,000 companies and organisations across the UK paying the living wage.

The accreditation is made by the Poverty Alliance on behalf of the Living Wage Foundation and involves rigorous interrogation of a company or organisation's pay structure both to its own employees and any contracted workers.

All employers will be expected to comply with National Living Wage (NLW) legislation by 2020.

Includem said it is going "above and beyond" any basic statutory commitment by signing up to the Living Wage Foundation's higher rate of pay.
