Innovative practice to be shared at Early Help conference

1 min read Early Years Social Care
CYP Now has assembled some first-rate speakers for our sixth annual national Early Help conference, taking place on Wednesday 19 September 2018 in central London.

Jo Casebourne, chief executive of the Early Intervention Foundation for the past year, will deliver the opening keynote talk, while a presentation from the Local Government Association and Newton Europe will examine the causes of variation in children's services spending between local areas.

Professor Vania Sena from Essex University will deliver a talk on predictive analytics, sharing how some councils are using technology to predict risk and target their early intervention and prevention work.

Practice seminars on the day will focus on a range of areas spanning early childhood, family support and preventing youth violence.

These include a session on "Delivering Early Help in Britain's youngest city" from Birmingham assistant director of early help Dawn Roberts; and on "Youth work at the sharp end" from John Poynton, chief executive of the charity Redthread, whose work is highlighted in the government's Serious Violence Strategy.

The innovative work of the Rose Vouchers for Fruit and Veg scheme, which won the early intervention category at the 2017 Children & Young People Now Awards, will also be shared and discussed.

Our dedicated conference website - www.earlyhelpconference.com - contains details of the full programme and the individual sessions.
