In the new edition of CYP Now: SEND support in schools; restorative practice special; and young inspectors

The October edition of CYP Now analyses the impact that rising pupil numbers and shrinking school budgets are having on support for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

The magazine also includes a 12-page special report on latest policy, practice and research developments in restorative practice across a range of children and families services in education, youth justice and social care. There are practice examples on Restorative Thinking in schools; West Berkshire children's services; reparation for young offenders; and supervision in safeguarding.

The main feature is a visit to observe young people in Lincolnshire serving as young inspectors, looking at how their candid feedback on services is helping to improve provision for their peers.
