Government rebuilds 21 further education colleges

1 min read Education
Cash from the government's multi-billion pound Building Colleges for the Future scheme has rebuilt or refurbished 21 further education colleges due to open this month.

Colleges are to benefit from state of the art facilities including purpose built hospitality, hair and beauty, science, farming, engineering and construction training centres.

Kendall College, in the Lake District, is to open a new heritage centre teaching young people about traditional Lakeland construction skills and Wyke College in Hull is to unveil a new green teaching block, heated by ground source heat pumps.

Bill Rammell, Minister for Further Education, said: “These college openings are proof of the Government’s commitment to create world-class further education facilities that inspire learners and meet the needs of employers.   Investing in further education is investing in the future productivity and competitiveness of the nation.”
