Government launches outdoor play resources

1 min read Early Years Health
The government has created an online toolkit for local authorities to help them communicate the benefits of outdoor play to the parents of children and young people.

The Outdoor Play Campaign Toolkit complements the work that authorities are carrying out through the government's £235m play strategy. It will offer practical support and guidance to ensure families make the most of the 3,500 play areas and 30 adventure playgrounds being built or refurbished across England by 2011.

The toolkit includes a range of materials such as posters, leaflets, images, adverts and detailed design guidelines on communication campaigns for local authorities. These have been deliberately designed to be adaptable to meet the individual needs of each authority. There are also case studies available online to illustrate how the toolkit can be best used.
