Tomorrow's People will use the Inspiring Scotland grant to replicate its current Glasgow programme in Edinburgh, Inverclyde and North and East Ayrshire over the next seven years.
The four-month Working It Out programme involves hard-to-reach young people in a community project, which aims to change perceptions of the young people and community members about each other. Nearly nine out of 10 participants move into work, training or further education, according to the charity.
Debbie Scott, chief executive of Tomorrow's People, said: "This award takes us one step closer to our ambition of embedding Working It Out as one of the primary support initiatives for the not in education, employment or training group."
