Frontline launches social work leadership scheme after DfE axe Pathways funding

Social worker training charity Frontline has announced its new leadership development programme months after its flagship offer was scrapped by the Department for Education because of budget cuts.

Progress Social Work is a new leadership development programme for current and aspiring team managers, Frontline said.

The charity added that it has “pulled together its expertise in social work and learnings from delivering its flagship training programmes Firstline, Headline and Pathways to create a brand-new development programme to empower leaders and improve outcomes for children”.

The new Progress programme will be delivered through a mixture of:

The programme will be run over a 10-month period and will aim to have 100 participants for cohort 1 which is planned to launch next year.

It aims to equip current and aspiring team leaders to meet “the evolving challenges of the social work sector”.
